I used my tripod, and flash.

This is special, Naomi - here in the UK, the weather forecast presenters on the BBC are often seen on-screen against a "scenic" backdrop - holding an umbrella! Never anything like this. This is a shot to warm the cockles of an Englishman's heart on a dreary day in Britain :-)

Nice self portrait, I see you timed your trip for the fall colors quite well, the leaves seem a little late turning here, I think the late heat wave confused them somewhat.
