The Civil War Battle at Guard Hill

The Shenandoah Valley is rich in history, especially Civil War History. Every year re-enactments of the many battles are presented by dedicated enthusiasts who relive these unforgetable moments. The Battle at Guard Hill was brought to life once again on the grounds of Belle Grove Plantation, south of Middletown. It was an honor to photograph this event.

Very nice job all-in-all, Naomi! And thanks to your tip about this event, I was able to get some shots myself, a few of which I posted here: http://www.pbase.com/sloopjohne/rebels_and_yankees I decided to take advantage of the Canon EOS 40D's reputed 9-stop dynamic range, and used Adobe Camera Raw to extract out another 2 stops from the RAW files. This allowed me to emulate Kodak's classic Tri-X film in post. I'm a happy camper! :-)

They look to have alot more firepower than English Civil War re-enactments! ROTFL! What an amazing event very well captured!
