Mud Dauber Wasp

This female mud dauber wasp spent the day building a mud nest on my window sill, and I spent the day taking her photo :)

Great set of shots. A day well spent!
The wasp looks similar to the Orange Potter Wasp we have in Melbourne, but the nest looks quite different.

Thank you for the photo's. Our son who is in the second grade is studying insects and we had found a black and yellow mud dauber nest in the garage. We cut it open and saw the chambers inside. We did some research and discovered what wasp makes this kind of nest in our area (md) Thanks again
