On the Yucatan Peninsula the archaeological site of Dzibilchaltun is about 17 km north
of Merida, the capital of the State. It is considered to be the longest continuously inhabited
city in the Mayan world. The building pictured above is called the Temple of the
Seven Dolls after the seven clay figures found inside.
