Bookends from an antique shop

The day I brought these home, Bill thought I lost my mind. "When did you start with all this decorating?" I explained that I have always decorated, I just did it in a more spaced-out way, not all at once as I have been lately. Geeze, who does he think got all the other stuff I have around here?

These bookends are marked, "Universal Statuary Corp., Chicago 1965" and "W Maratta, sculp" and a symbol of a circle with something inside (a or c?) and "995". I paid $35, because I liked them due to them playing musical instruments and sitting on books with sheets of music curling around them (Bill is a musician by training). I see ones like them on EBay for $10, and gilded ones at an auction site for $84 (but they are treating the "995" as if it were a "numbered" copy #, which it cannot be since mine have the same number. The number is likely a mold number or something.)
