Maitum T'boli Heritage

--------------------------------------------
The Tbolis are one of the indigenous peoples of South Mindanao. Their whereabouts and identity is to some extent confused in the literature; some publications present them as distinct peoples; some locate the Tbolis to the vicinity of the Buluan Lake in the Cotabato Basin or in Agusan del Norte. There are also Tbolis who reside on the mountain slopes and the coastal area of Maitum, and are know here as Tagabeli. The Tboli stand out for their marked and characteristics penchant for personal adornment. This is evident in their costumes, body ornaments, hairstyle, and cosmetic practices.
