I had a few Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker Juveniles outside this morning, got some great photos. Wonderful to watch, maybe I will get to watch them grow as I do not know their habits or if they remain in one area long. Any insite would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This very morning I saw the male Pileated. I have been lucky enough to see him for 25 years. I got a brief look at another bird I had never seen before, however, I am suspecting it is a female pileated. It looked like the description you gave in your Sept notice. I saw them from my kitchen window in a dead tree at the edge of the woods. They were not seen together, as the female flew in later, and I didn't get a very long look at her. The male has flown and perched in my back yard on an old soft maple tree! I would be interested to know if others have seen this.

Need help! I live in Port Orchard, Washington. I have a lovely pair of woodpeckers, but, don't know what they are! The male looks like a pileated, but, he is bigger, and a deep blue. His female, larger than a crow, is a mottled brown, with a long slender beak. Hard to see her when she is on the ground. In short, the male looks like woody woodpecker! They are very shy, hard to get a good picture. Any help appreciated.

Very beautiful, I am going to pass the address on to my neighbour who likes birds that fly. The railway I could not think of is East Broad Top, Rockhill PA. I think Karen mentioned Rockhill and I said no. 73 Larry ve3fne.
