Shoot! It's not mine!...
unless maritime law applies here
to abandoned vessels on the beach,
if only momentarily.
Apparently a SCUBA photographer takes the salt in stride ...
but not in his shoes!
The Nikon looked so vulnerable each time the lens was removed
and the sensors puffed with the marine air that was so vividly visible
as it was churned up from the surface of the water
and wafted across the silhouette of the huge seastack toward the sun.
There was a little whisk brushing of the sand from the tripod afterwards,
as well as the shoes and the kids,
apparently for the sake of the van.
When I begin changing lenses on the beach,
I will have some more detailed information to share!
As to the surf, no worries...
when you have a high quality "vise" ...
what we think of as a tripod ...
you have confidence that it will hold up in adverse conditions.
(Personally, for my nerves, that vise would be a Humvy or a tank)
When I remarked on the vulnerability of the sensors to the salt,
there was mention of the last time that he was shooting there
in sandblasting conditions, changing lenses, of course.
Imagine that!
