I wasn't told what these animals were - although it was clarified they weren't rats or mice. The person talking to me didn't know the English word, and I don't remember the Thai. Maybe something like gerbils?) They had no tails and were supposed to be a local creature. They were cute and probably very scared with all the bright lights, clicking cameras, hands thrust at them, not to mention the noise.
