Plus inhabitant. Usually, if a dog is inside the wat, then it doesn't object to us. Sometimes, outside, a dog, or dogs, will get quite threatening. They certainly know a foreigner, and if you stay within certain limits, they are quite sanguine. Step outside an invisible boundary and you risk teeth around your ankles.
This was all metal, not paint, although some of the smaller details (like a spear which I touched) were grey plastic, not metal.
