Gladiators

Perhaps the most brutal fight I have witnessed in the past three years, these two stallions really beat each other up over a 10 minute period. Both came away with many bleeding wounds from severe bites. The roan stallion had a very deep gash into the exposed leg bone, and the red stallion suffered many bites along the neck and face. Some of the images were so bloody, I have decided not to show them.

These wild mustangs hold nothing back when they are evenly matched and the challenger thinks he has a chance to rout the dominate male. Neither of the warring males backed away from the other; it will be interesting to see if the roan challenger was able to steal any females away from the red stallion, I look forward to my next visit to the desert.

This is amazing. Is that scars on the red stallion? He must have to battle very often to have so many scars. I just moved to Carson City and hope to shoot wild horses, but not all are wild mustangs here.
