Two weeks ago, I took many photos of the young stallion that I named Romeo. He had somehow suffered a gaping hole in his forehead that bled down over his face and out his left ear. It is possible that the injury was a result of fighting with another stallion to defend his mares, but the wound was very high on his forehead, and not a place where he would have been bitten or kicked.

Sadly, I did not see him today. I fear he may have died from the injury. I hope that is not the case and that he will turn up the next time I am out there.
