Arriving at Arches National Park about 30 minutes after sundown, there was still some color in the lower atmosphere and the stars were just beginning to twinkle. But, as I pulled up and began to unpack my gear to shoot the scene, a man who had lost his truck keys approached and asked if I would give him a ride back into Moab. We were the only two people there and it was very, very, cold. Of course I gave the grateful gentleman a ride into town, and then returned to get just a few shots before the approaching clouds covered the sky.
