On a hot and very dusty evening, the mustangs follow a well-worn trail to one of the few remaining waterholes with water. You have to appreciate the amazing hardiness of the wild horses. The desert heat and limited water in summer, and then freezing cold and having to eat snow in the winter. There is no real shelter from any kind of weather, just a few very small cedar trees in the hills sage flats where they spend most of their time feeding.
