Thanks for your comments. As you can imagine I shot loads of pics that evening, and I tried several crops of this one, but I always came back to the original. I'll put one in the other gallery and if you would like to have a go, I'd love to know how you see it.

The composition definitely can be improved by cropping. If the original file is bigger I will focus only on the three and show the magnitude of difference between the tree and the cloud formation by cropping it only in x-direction.
Also if you decide to crop try cutting the silhoutte in the y direction too. That will bring the tree out more prominantly.

A lovely sky, and the tree is a decent subject. However, its a bit of a loose composition and IMO would benefit from cropping to 'portrait' with the tree in the bottom left intersection. Cheers, Dunc
