4th: Pecos River Flume Underside by Gordon W

Carlsbad, New Mexico USA

The water in the photo is the Pecos River, famous in American Old West lore. The bridge is actually a flume (aka. aqueduct) that carries water from the Pecos River and then over it for irrigation purposes. The original flume was wooden, built in the 1800s, destroyed at some point, rebuilt in 1902 out of concrete, and was the largest concrete structure in the world at that time.

Absolutely beautiful! Are those skies only in New Mexico? I think so.

Very nice, rich colors. Even the clouds cooperated with that nice upswept look.

Splendid! Mysterious shadows and such a sky. Where do you get these skies? Could I order one please! The whispy golden grass along the riverbank is the perfect contrast to the looming hulk of the flume.
