Yuck! Don't Step There............ *Veronica

Taken today, the streets of Manhattan. You need to be careful wherEVER you step.
I added a gradient to the image at 100% opacity in an overlay mode. And for the color of the gradient I chose a brick red because it brought out the nastyness of the water on the
sidewalk.

I like this shot. The color and texture work well together. It definately hits a chord with me - it definately isn't something I would want to walk in.

Hi Veronica,

I like how the visible foot at the top and the portion of the pillar frame the shots, which otherwise would have been too static. Overall my immediate reaction to this shot is a "forensic" feeling (no doubt brough in by your gradient treatment).. except that the title makes me make other associations. I prefer the foresinc of the two ;-)

Veronica,
I don't think that I would want people to think New York is a dirty city... your pic adds new meaning to "eating off the sidewalk" NASTY! I like the butts in the cracks and in front of the building wall. GOOD IDEA on the overlay. really adds to the realism.
