This was the 2nd Annual Paediatric Emergency Medicine Conference hosted by the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. Trillium Gift Of Life Network's booth was extremely well attended by both emergency room nurses and physicians. There was a keen interest in all aspects of organ and tissue donation and we were able to answer questions and clarify understandings of the issues involved concerning patients, families and the type of organs and tissues that are suitable for transplant. There was also much interest in the new Ontario government legislation for organ and tissue donation under the Trillium Gift of Life Act, that will make it mandatory for hospitals to approach family members to request organ and tissue donations starting early next year.
