My day started.jpg(419)

Home(front yard)

This:( http://www.pbase.com/image/35055944 ) was to be my PaD for today. But then I walked to my car in preperation for running some errands. Imagine my shock, then anger when I saw this busted window.
The "would be" theief(s) wanted to steal my car stereo. He,she, they took the facing off, then tried to pry the stereo out. It wouldn't budge. So yes, I still have my car stereo, but the culprit took the @!@# facing. That means no music to soothe the savage beast in me after work, till a replacement facing can be ordered. (From where Wayne works). As well as getting that window replaced. It's a good thing I like older music. They didn't touch not one CD!!!

small update: I did get a new "face" for the radio.(they had one at the shop) So now all I have to do is get the window replaced tomorrow.

Thanks for all the comments and kind replies

other sizes: small medium original auto

When I lived in Philadelphia this was a regular occurance; leaving a quarter in sight would attract thieves...and, good luck cleaning up that glass...what a mess. Hope it's a better day tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about this...

I'm glad the faceplate has been replaced. This must have been so frustrating. Hope they are caught.

This has happened to my car a couple of times. Once they smashed a rear quarterlite and stole the radio, the next time they smashed the driver's window and tried unsuccessfully to break the steering lock. In their frustration they pushed it into a wall. Both times it cost me over £100. I am amazed that you have remained so calm, and glad that at least your music was left.

Oh no!! It's a shame when someone takes/tries to take things that belong to someone else...I don't care how small the item(s)...it's still robbery! It's a violation! It's criminal! And it's scary! I hope they can find the one or ones who did this to you!

so glad nothing serious was taken or damaged, hope you get it sorted soon!

Can you get a new fascia from the manufacturer of your stereo...? What a horrible thing to happen.

That's SOOOOO infuriating! Best of luck getting it all straightened out. Amazing presence of mind to turn this awful event into a PaD, however!

Mel that is awful. Thankfully it has never happened to me & can only imagine how you feel. Not the sort of PaD you wanted but sadly it's soooo common these days.

A truly awful way to start the day, or end it, or any time. You must feel quite violated and angry, and justly so. My condolences!

That is so annoying and infuriating. Don't you feel really violated?
I have an idiot out there shopping with my credit card number. He's attempted to buy a Dell computer, 4 pairs of Jordan tennis shoes and a hat. He's also successfully purchased some things, which means I'll have tons of paperwork so that I don't have to pay for the items.
I even know the only time the card was ever out of my hands long enough for the person to copy down the three numbers on the back. The fraud department recommends that I let them pursue this.
Aargh!! I have no patience with people who want to take the things others have worked so hard for.
