Dear Tom, These are very beautiful pictures, I'm going to put this webpage as a favorite. If you're interested. I use to live up on North Fork Road during the hurricanes that wiped out Blk Mtn, Asheville, etc. I worked for the Asheville Citizens & Times. I have a lot of pics on webshots.com. Check them out if you would like. Go to search community and put in justplainirish2004, that will take you to my page. Thank you for this opportunity to view pics. I like the ones on Lake Tomahawk, if you have anymore, you can write me at justplainirish2004@myway.com . I live in Florida south of Cape Canaveral for now, but will hopefully be back up there in August 2008. Have a good Day!

Dear Tom,
I am one of the editors-in-chief of the Owen High School newspaper "The Hoofbeat," in Black Mountain North Carolina. We are in the process of redesigning our paper and we have taken interest in the photo you have of Mt. Mitchell. We would like to use it as the background to our nameplate in the Paper. Our paper is distributed in three area codes by the Asheville Citizen times, and reaches roughly 4,000 people. We would credit you for the photo in our masthead if you would allow us to use it. You have some truly beautiful work.

Thanks,
Ashley Rumbough
Co-Editor-in-Chief

Hi Tom,
I wanted to leave you a note that I think your pictures posted on the PBase site are great.
I especially enjoyed the N.C. section, as I think that is some of the most beautiful country I have been to.
It looks like you have a lot of fun traveling and taking your shots!
I am glad for you that it seems to be so much fun.
I hope to join you in that some time.
The very best to you!
Bill Varian

Hello. You recently answered a question for me on Yahoo! Answers about my photos (Malachi on slide, Bridge, etc.). I thank you for the advice and the honest answers. Your photos are wonderful and I hope I can develop an eye for details as you have. The bridge picture I have was taken in N.C. somewhere when I was on vacation. Thanks again, you've helped me see what I need to work on and I think I will probably take a class sometime soon.

Very nice pics. I am a member of the PSE email list & got your link there. I am SO envious of the Bobcat pics. I have never seen one, outside of a zoo.

Hello Tom, I don't know what to say.......I am in awe of your pictures, and so thankful
to you for sharing such beautiful photos. You certainly have a wonderful talent, and
will keep these to go back to now and then, because I find them extremely peaceful, and
what could be a better target than mother nature's beauty.
I have to tell you how I got to see your site.......I met Joanne, (dockside) by accident,
on the computer, and have been corresponding, and when she sent me her web page that you
helped her with......she also gave me your address, she seems like a wonderful lady, and
am happy to have met her. Again, many thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the kind words Joan. The camera I've used for the past four years is an Olympus C2100UZ. I think it's a great camera, but at four years it's outdated for a digital camera. I think it's not so important what kind of camera it is, but rather that you really, really learn to become an expert with whatever camera you have. Studying about photo composition helps too. Finally, make use of a photo processing program such as Photoshop to add a little pizazz to your photos. This is equivalent to the darkroom processing that photographers did in the past.

Tom,

Interested to see your bobcat pictures. We have a home in Willow Creek Farms, off Hebron Road just west of Cummings Road, close to Etowah and Horseshoe. I saw a bobcat in our back yard yesterday, also eyeing our bird feeders. I was so shocked that I yelled for my husband and the cat ran off. Do they eat birds? Have you seen more than one? It was quite exciting.
