I got a call on Friday afternoon about a last minute Bike and Hike to Mt. Baker from my friend Phil. Jennifer, seeing the promise of good weather for the weekend, had organized a 50 mile bike ride to Mt. Baker with an optional 4 mile hike. It sounded great so I said 'sign me up'. The extraordinary scenery was way beyond my expectations. I'm a native of Washington and I didn't know about this gem? I guess it takes a transplant to show you the beauty of your home state! Jennifer was a wonderful leader. Not only did she organize this ride but she lashed on a shopping basket (we won't ask where she got it) to the back of her bicycle and offered to carry our hiking shoes and extra clothes. Many thanks to Jennifer for making this wonderful day possible.
