Paro Dzong

Bhutan

Originally built in 1646, the Paro Dzong is the administrative seat for the district of Paro. But it also houses a monastery with about 200 monks.
The word Dzong means Fortress and Dzongs can be found all over Bhutan at strategic places in each of the Bhutanese districts.
