This astonishing modern-day wonder of the world opened in 1999 and includes three 'biomes', where you can experience different plant habitats, including the rainforests and the warm Mediterranean. The highlight of a visit to Eden must be the Humid Tropics Biome which is the largest conservatory in the world. The scale of the biomes are huge and my pictures do not do them justice. What my pictures cannot convey is the incredible heat and humidity inside the biomes, especially during the summer - it is absolutely sweltering and can make breathing quite laboured. There are air-conditioned 'cool rooms' for emergencies, should you need sanctuary from the heat. If you are ever in south-western England you must visit this awe-inspiring experience.
