In this gallery you will find photos of one of my favorite jets of all time. Unfortunately not many are left and I have been very fortunate to see some of the last ones flying as target drones. As the pilots put it "Born the fly, reborn to die".

RNIE ELLISON: I was stationed at Langley AFB for little over a year 1969 worked the engine shop.loved the six and never could get that beautiful plane.

I was in the 318th FIS from 1967 to 1972 and from 1976 to 1985. The Dart is my passion! They took the one from McChord and killed it as a drone. I almost cried when I found out. I was in the flightline electronics, MA-1 shop.

These are great pictures. I was an electrician at Selfridge between 1966 and 1969 and went to Korea and Okinawa with the 94th FIS. I have very great memories of being on the flight line at Selfridge and in Okinawa. We had a Major "Flash" Gordon who shot down a Bomarc out of Eglin while on TDY at Tyndall in 1967. I would love to have pictures from Selfridge.

Great to see thes pictures of 106 s I woked on them at Selfridge AFB mid 60s till I went to Viet nam great aircraft, I was a Crew chief. 94 FIS Would like to have a picture of one in flight if anyone knows where I can get one.

These pictures bring back great memories. I was an aircraft Electrician with the 48th FIS at Langley between 1967 & 1070. I went to Korea & Okinawa with the Squadron. It is nice to see pictures of this aircraft again.

Great memories ! I also worked CN&L at the 48th FIS . I was there from 1958 to May 1962. Thanks John for sending me this link. I left the Hampton area for 6 years, and then moved back to work for Northrop-Grumman. I am a member of the Langley AFB Officers Club. Thanks Marc. Garland Arnold

Marc, I loved your images of that great old bird. I was in the CN&L shop at the 48th FIS at Langley and worked on the F-106 from 1962 to 1965. There are still two of them left here in Tucson. One is at Davis-Monthon AFB and the other is across the street at the Pima County Air Musem. Using Google Earth, go to 32 8.413N 110 52.105W

I love the century Series Jets , I live South. of MCclellelen AFB and before they retired I had the joy of seeing them fly out after some depot work . I am glad their Museum is adding one their collection . Also down the road is Castle AFB , that has a nice one on display . So now I am building a 1/48 model to display at my office . Thanks for the nice photo's !!
