I read your page about macro and insects. Something I find very exciting, like you said.. it's like hunting big game. I only have a point and shoot camera, so I get very frustrated. But with patience, sometimes I get some pretty decent shots. One day I hope to get some shots like you have in your galleries. (some day I'll get a decent camera as well) Thanks for taking the time to write out your tips, it really taught me a lot!

Hi Mark,

You are definitely an inspiration to me because you didn't start with all the high-priced equipment and you have created a magnificent portfolio. The crisp pictures made me appreciate how wonderfully decorated many insects are. I had to wonder, when they look at each other, do they classify one another as attractive or handsome?
Kindest regards, Karen

Great photos Mark. Sharp and great exposure. One question, From experience I can see you were quite close to the "models". Other than patience and being in the right place at the right time what tips can you pass along in regard to "capturing" similar images.

Hello Mark,
I was surfing the web tonight looking for cameras...and one click led to the next and I ended up on your site. You are a the Michaelangelo of photography! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. I can only aspire to be as good! Can you recommend a decent digital camera for a beginner like myself? I'm wanting to photograph my jewelry and get is on-line. Regards, Julianna (Houston, TX)

Mark -

My husband pointed me to your site this morning and I had a lot of fun looking at every single one of your posted images. Awesome work. I am an amateur photographer doing nature and some animals. I have a set of macro lenses that I have yet to use, but I look forward to actually getting out there and having some fun with them. I hope to see more of your work in the future, and will have one of your pictures on my wall soon!

Thanks for a relaxing Saturday!

Really very good job with the macros.
Are you doing it proffesionally somehow?
