3-12-04 The Dream-Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta

The birthing ground of the Civil Rights Movement. Ebenezer is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s home church where he preached. It's not far from my office. I forget about these neat places sometimes. I took this and used a couple of PS actions to give it both an aged and a bit of a "dream appearance." The old church looks just like it did when I saw it as a kid in the mid-sixties. Today the congregation has built a beautiful new complex across the street for use, and this is a National Park Service historic site.

Great picture! Incredible feeling to be inside the church where Dr. King preached and the privilege of paying respects to Mrs. King. http://www.pbase.com/atlantajewel/coretta_scott_king_viewing

A website located here briefly describes the origin of the term "Ebenezer"...

Wonderful aging job -- I thought it was a scan of an old photo.
