1-22-04 An Austrian Thaler Silver Dollar

Given to me by a friend. I usually leave it on my desk just for something pretty.
Cat, if you are reading, I am trying to experiment with "off center" and assymetry!
The background is my wristpad for my keyboard. The incoming light from the top left is from an incandescent lamp up that way. I thought it gave a kind of "path", a mysterious feel to it possibly.

Nikon Coolpix 3100
1/5s f/2.8 at 5.8mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

I also like the off-centered ness, and the perspective. This was shot wide, and the coin has a little bulbing in the middle of it from the wide angle distortion. Makes it look more 3D! Neat! Nice B&W. -- angela :)

I agree . .I like the lighting, the off-centeredness . . but I would like to have had more of the coin in focus. What do you suppose it would look like if the coin were on the left & the dark expanse to the right?? hmmmmm . . tomorrow's PaD???

I like the composition and lighting in this one.
