Ol' Snake-eye

This one is most unusual. I was walking in the woods and discovered it, and enjoyed walking with it. It had been laying on the ground for a while obviously, but my hardness test (three whacks on a tree) revealed a viable piece of very solid oak. It didnt look like much but the long straight span that turns into a serpentine twist really got me going. The head is a piece of twisted, gnarled burl that is so hard I dont know if you could break it with a hammer. The whole thing reminded me of Moses' rod just about the time when it was turning from rod into snake or back again! You cant see it in this pic but I embedded a piece of turquoise which I hope looks like a blue eye in the head. This guy is one of my favorites and I don't think I could part with him-I also don't think I could come close to duplicating him.
