Throughout the weekend everyone’s thoughts were not far from the sad loss of Marco Simoncelli. The weather was dull, overcast and cold which added to the uneasiness of the MotoGP weekend. So it was nice to be back at the La Villa hotel for our end of season MotoGP house party and to welcome old and new friends and a couple of funny guys from France! It was especially pleasing to meet several Australian guests who joined us to celebrate Casey's fantastic championship performance. Come Sunday we were treated to one of the best races of the season with Casey just edging Ben Spies into second place by just a few hundredths of a second. The closest winning margin in MotoGP history! Valencia was the last race of 800’s and is interesting to remind ourselves that in five seasons of 800cc MotoGP Stoner has won 33 races to Rossi’s 21 both having made an identical 84 starts.
