The Sachsenring marked the moment Honda turned the corner. Dani Pedrosa's dominant win in Germany ended Honda's longest winless streak in MotoGP since 1982. It was typical Pedrosa, grabbing the lead early, and riding smoothly, quickly and consistently to build up an unbeatable lead. If there's one lesson to be learned by the competition here, it's that they cannot afford to let Pedrosa escape. But if the racing was typical of Pedrosa, the emotion he displayed after the win was not. Always calm and collected, even criticised for being cold and emotionless, Pedrosa was visibly moved by his win. He really needed this.
The wonderful historic city of Leipzig was our base for this blisteringly hot motogp weekend. Our guests enjoyed the sumptuous luxury of the 5 star Furstenhof Hotel, one of the finest hotels in Germany. The prize for most travelled MotoExpress guests went to Lee and Cindy from California.
It's hard to put the Sachsenring into words, it's simply the most entertaining European round in the season. 226,944 race fans passed through the turnstiles over the race weekend. Next year make sure you are one of them.
