Although some think images captured atop utility poles are not appealing of the Snowy Owl it is a part of their natural environment when visiting us from the tundra regions of the north. It offers them an unobstructed panoramic view of their surroundings and thus helps them to find their prey. Near or along windswept agricultural fields in high elevations are prime areas. They can sit atop of these poles for hours on end checking the surrounding fields. Normal traffic along the roads very seldom seems to bother them.
