Utah

For me so far, Utah has mostly been a state to drive through en route to Arizona, to Nevada, or to Colorado. In recent years, I've begun enjoying special spots: Capitol Reef National Park, where I have camped and hiked during precious, short weekends in autumn and early spring; Brighton, where we twice enjoyed a summer contra dance weekend with folks from 7 states; Zion National Park, whose lower and higher elevation entrances have showed us such different, glorious late winter views (sorry, no photos from there are available yet); and the area around what used to be a highway rest area just south of St. George.
