After living several years in eastern Washington, I worked 5 months at Malheur Field Station, and came to know, love, and admire the wide and open terrain of southeastern Oregon. Lately, I have begun to visit a sanctuary retreat southwest of Hood River, near the northern border. Mostly, I drive through eastern Oregon on Hwy. 395 to California, and eventually I may live somewhere within an hour or two of Klamath Falls.
