The thing about a quince that I simply cannot convey visually is the sweet, gently pervasive, fruity aroma. When my sister sends me a few, ripe from our tree in December, I will leave them out in the kitchen for as long as possible in order to enjoy this delicate and unseen treasure throughout my house.
