As I leaned against my VW photographing the sunrise, five large, curious young mule deer walked into my frames (it was still too dark for them to appear in the images). They stood peering at me, considering the situation, until one among them chirped, twice, something to the effect that they had better things to do than gawk, and they came to their senses, turned, and hastily retreated.
