We hadn't heard about the trail's having been reopened, but there in front of us was the re-done parking lot with no barrier across the entrance and the pristine trail, beckoning, so up we went and enjoyed another productive hour as several other couples passed us, pursuing their own kinds of dreams. The angularity of it will soften a bit, we hope, over time, as vegetation, rabbits, and our pounding summer storms erode these engineered slopes.
