The local chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society enjoys visiting this colorful canyon in early autumn for a walk to see the uncommon Zauschneria, or Firechalice, blooming on the rocky hillside just beyond the bright maples. No photos of that (by me) yet...I keep being worried that I will drop the camera (or me), as the way to reach them is to negotiate a steep and slippery slope. I'm happier on the roads, thank you!
