Born in California, living there nearly 30 years, and returning often, I have found many images there already, and expect to find many more. My siblings and I inherited the land where we grew up, now reduced to 27 acres south of St. Helena in Napa County, north of San Francisco and about midway between the coast and California's central valley. My work in Idaho used to allow me to visit only once each year, and now my failing eyes and budget are working in the same direction. It was hot in August when I was able to be there, and most of the plums and blackberries on our land had dried up by that time of year, but I have usually found a few of those to enjoy, and a few more images each time I went. Now, I have a little more freedom to choose when to be there, so we may begin to see some different seasons represented here.
