If Kinkade was English! (26887)

Bossington, Somerset, England

These cottages were taken in Bossington, Somerset. I added a sunset sky in PS and then worked on the composite using a combination of 'glowing edge' and 'rough pastel' filters, boosted the saturation, and increased the contrast, in order to try and produce the kind of painting Thomas Kinkade might paint if he were English. If you're not familiar with his work, why not take a look at his website, at:

This is one of my favorite photos of yours Chris and I see I commented and voted for it back in Jan. of 2007. I wrote you then and you were kind enough to explain the PS work you had done. At that time, it wasn't beneath the photo. Still a beauty and I wish I could vote for it again. Marvelous bit of work.

Superb visual impact on this fine, Kinkade-esque scene, Chris.
I may have added slightly more brush strokes, as in some of my images in my 'photoart' gallery - to emphasize the painting impression.

Kind regards, and thanks for your best wishes.
P.S. How do you get so many comments on this site, Chris - it's only a few mates from PP who comment on mine!

Had to see where you were from and I saw this image which is so nice. I thought I had seen it before so I paged down and sure enough, I had commented on it last month. Memory isn't what it useds to be.
Happy Holidays
