Tudela, Navarre, Spain

To the south of Navarre, between the oppressive aridity of the Bardenas and the lush green of the market gardens and orchards of the Ribera, lies Tudela, the second city in Navarre in terms of both size and importance. Founded in 802 by Amrus ibn Yusuf al-Muwalad under the mandate of King Hakan I, it is one of the most important cities of Islamic origin in Spain and Europe.
