Instow, from Appledore, Devon

Instow, North Devon view map

Where the Taw and Torridge rivers meet, sits the delightful quayside village of Appledore, next to the River Torridge. The river here shares the large tidal ranges of the Bristol Channel and daily changes of water depth of 6 metres or more are common near its mouth!

When I arrived in Appledore, at 8:15am on Sunday morning, the tide was in and you couldn't see any sand at all. But by the time the service I was speaking at was finished, most of the water had gone, as though someone had 'pulled the plug out'!

(N.B. This photo is accurately geotagged for your further enjoyment.)

Those large Sea Anchors seem to be redundant now, but make wonderful sculptures. Lovely picture Chris.

A perfectly anchored image Chis , great direction to the beach ahead and the lovely green rolling hills.
The clouds were in your favor with this shot it is like icing on the cake.
Colors are wonderful and the image resolution tack sharp.

Has someone wrapped a swath of canvas across your foreground left? That blue canvassed boat with the cherry tipped motor guides you to circle around the sweep of water and sand with the green grass growing all around and the sky popping popcorn clouds.
