These black-legged kittiwakes are the only gull species that builds nests on
cliffs. Unlike other gull chicks which wander around as soon as they can walk,
kittiwake chicks instinctively sit still in the nest to avoid falling off. We
saw a guillemot eating a kittiwake chick that apparently fell out of its nest.
