Living only 35-40 miles away from Virginia Tech in Roanoke Virginia all my life, I just took for granted that I was a Hokie fan.
On April 16th, 2007, I realized just how much you can take things for granted without knowing that much about them.
I didn't know anyone that went there on that terrible day that will go down in history, and changed the lives of all the students, their families, faculty and staff and even the school itself, but I know that my daughter wants to be a Veterinarian and VA Tech is the only school in Virginia that has a Veterinary School.
My eyes were glued to the TV all day on Monday April 16th. I wanted so much to show how this affected all of us in Virginia and around the world, but what could I do? I thought about it and decided that somehow, someway that I would take my love of photography and my desire to find out more about this great school, that I hoped one day my daughter would attend, and put together some photo's of people and places around VT over the next 2 days. So on April 17th I went to Virginia Tech for the first time. I was a Hokie fan but what did I really know about Virginia Tech? In the next few days I will try to show the world things that I saw and put my words down about how I felt in this gallery.
Each picture will have been taken with my Nikon D-50 and I do ask that you not take them as your own, or use them without permission from me.
Check back each day for new photo's and descriptions of each one being uploaded to this gallery.
