NOTE November 17,2010. I have had two emails from people that knew Chief Petty Officer retired Ernest J. Gaines. One was a drinking buddy and friend that knew him a few years before his death, and the last one from a guy who helped load him aboard a banka boat for his last trip to the doctors. At the last he was very overweight, and in bad health. He had to be carried to the boat.

I am still looking for information from some one who knew him at the photo lab at Subic Point navy base in 1961--64. I am trying to find information as to what happened to his french wife, Rene', and her son Paul who was aroung age ten when her left Florida for the Philippines.


I have opened this gallery to feature my photographs of NAAS Whiting Field, Milton, FL, and the Photo lab staff in 1959 - 1961 era., and to try to locate some of the people I knew at Whiting Field in 1959-61.

But I am open to showing some photographs made by other people that were stationed at Whiting Field in the 1950's and 60's. If you have base photographs you would like displayed here, send me an email with your photo information.
