Milton Florida, at night, in 1960

Milton, FL, in 1960

Main Street in Milton, FL

Milton rolled up the side walks at night. If the sailors wanted more action than was available at the drug store or laundry mat thay had to catch the bus, or drive, to Pensacola. I did have some decent meals at the eateries in Milton. One place had great Key Lime, and Lemon Ice box pies. The toppings were made by whipping up egg whites, and the pies was made from scratch, and not from boxed mixes.

Hi Marvin,

I to was stationed at Whitting field during 1960 and spent a lot of time in downtown Milton at the USO, Milton Cafe, the locker room and of course....Pensacola.

I was assigned to Special Services and worked on the golf course. My basic training was at Great Lakes...company 577 1960.
