Dragon Fruit Farm - A visit to a dragon fruit farm in Malaysia / Johor

Dragon fruit is of cactus facmily, with high economic value. It can be taken as fruit, flower, vegetable, health product and medicine as well, called "priceless treasure"
This Dragon Fruit farm in Malaysia / Johor Bahru grows Taiwan species of Dragon Fruit which has a RED flesh.

Just to add-on, this RED flesh species of Dragon fruit is harder to find in Singapore, the species found in Singapore is white flesh which came from Vitnam. The red flesh varieties contain lycopene which is a natural antioxidant known to fight cancer, heart disease, and lower blood pressure.

Yes I do like dragon fruit. In Leyte, Philippines, we're also growing them as a newly introduced crop in selected farms in the region. Wish to plant other varieties like the red flesh. What we have here is the white flesh yet.

well, i'm living in the US now. Houston Texas to be exact. I'm starting to plant this fruit a year ago. I got it from a friend of mine. The plant is better in dry climate. In the US, during the winter we have to put "hot light" at night to protect the plant , we also use blanket or whatever you can use to cover it from freezing. It is very easy to plant it. Once you get the plant, if it is freshly cut, leave it in a dry location for a couple of day for the wound to heal, then just put it in the soil like in the pictures ( of course you need that pole for the plant to clime) then water it , add fertilize once in a while hopefully in a year you'll have your fruit. Hope this help.

I just want to tell a story, One day when I was driving from vacation somewhere in laguna, (philippines also) with my family i just saw a fruit in its vine! I parked the car and I go to the vendor and ask if he's selling the vine, and luckilly he sell it to me with lower cost! Anyway, to make the story end.
