On Saturday 6/19/2010, a group of five hikers took on the Pemi Loop, a 33.3 mile ultra long distance day hike over the summits of Bondcliff, Bond, West Bond, South Twin, Galehead, Garfield, Lafayette, Lincoln, Liberty and Flume, in New Hampshire's rugged and spectacular Pemigewasset Wilderness. This trip is one of New England's greatest day hiking challenges. We hit the trail at 3:30 AM and were out before dark, finishing well ahead of book time!
The group trained hard, the weather was good, and fortune smiled upon our endeavor - only minor cuts, scrapes, bug bites, and blisters to show for a very long day on difficult terrain.
Participants: Tim G, Kate N, Jonathan R, Nico and Philip and W. First Pemi Loop for Kate, Philip and Nico! Second Pemi Loop for Tim and Jonathan!
