Often referred to as Maine's Grand Canyon. The group, led by Eileen Whynot, hiked the entire gorge on the Rim trail. Lots of colorful mushrooms dotted the trail along the way. We were treated to numerous waterfalls and steep canyon walls. Fording the Pleasant River on the AT, to and from the gorge, was a pleasant treat for our weary feet at the end of the day. Additional activities of the weekend included hiking White Cap Mt and paddling in Silver Lake.
