This pano was done with the 24mm f3.5 Nikkor PC lens. Instead of rotating the camera on the tripod, I used the shift capability of the lens, left, right, and center. This way you don't worry about any distortion because the lens was not rotated around its nodal point. No cropping was need once the pano was stitched together in Photoshop.
