I photographed these reenactors in Whitehall Township, PA. My goal was to photograph individuals, to get up close and personal. These reenactors made it easy. They were easy to approach and were eager to pose for the camera - well, most of them were. Some were a bit shy, but they still cooperated. I wanted to photograph these people as if Mathew Brady were able to carry his camera around among the troops.

One thing I noticed while I was there. The local camera club was asked to photograph the event. There were many of them throughout the grounds. However, most were shooting from afar. It is so easy to approach these folks and they are so cooperative. I would advise any amateur who likes to photograph these type of events to do what I do and get up close and personal. They love it.
